What would you use to get this (probably 10+ year old sticker and the gunk behind it off? I was thinking a razor and goo gone/goof off but I’m nervous about using a razor on the glass. What say ye?

You’ve got it right. Razor then goo gone. If you have a heat gun heat it up a little first. Should make it easier to get off.

razo should be fine.. but even a metal spatula will probably do the trick

with a little more effort

If you haven’t used a razor blade on glass before, boy are you in for a treat! Don’t be afraid; it won’t hurt the glass unless you’re using a dirty/damaged blade or a bad (like perpendicular) angle. Use a fresh blade and angle it about 30 or 45 degrees from the glass. Lubricate the glass with window cleaner (or maybe adhesive remover in this case) and it’ll glide across like a clay bar. But do be careful around the edges, so that you don’t cut into the seals.

That’s how my friends strip tint basically. The real old stuff can be a pain though

Don’t be afraid of using a razor on glass. That’s how old tint is removed, it’s what house painters use on windows. Most don’t even mask off windows because it’s more efficient to just use a razor afterwards.

A razor blade and the solvent of your choice will be fine on glass. Another option is heat via   your wife’s hair dryer  a heat gun or steamer. It can soften up the adhesive and make the rest of it easier in some circumstances.

You want to go under the seals if at all possible, because then it SHOULD be no worse than reinstalling the seal. Meaning it’ll just pop right back into place, no problems.

Do NOT use citrus-based solvents or ANYTHING containing  isopropyl alcohol. The seals are old rubber and these WILL damage it. Apply them to a microfiber cloth AFTER the bulk of the sticker is removed, and use some elbow grease.

It was super easy! To my surprise the sticker came off in two big pieces and the razor was perfect combined with goo gone.

Great to hear. Goo gone is one of my favorite products. It makes something that would otherwise be very tedious very easy.
